How to Pay OpenRouter with SOL (Native Solana)

Shawn Muggle

You hold SOL, not USDC, and want OpenRouter credits. OpenRouter's own crypto checkout sends you to a Coinbase payment page that, at the time of writing, takes USDC on Base, so SOL does not settle it directly.

ROZO Checkout pays that same OpenRouter payment link with native SOL. Paste the link, pick SOL, and send the exact amount shown to a one-time Solana deposit address. ROZO settles the invoice in USDC for you. No swap, no bridge and no ROZO account.

If you hold USDC or USDT on Solana instead, our Solana stablecoin guide covers that route, where Phantom, Solflare or Backpack sign the transfer directly. ROZO Checkout is independent and not affiliated with OpenRouter or Coinbase.

Steps to pay OpenRouter with crypto: copy your OpenRouter payment link, paste it into ROZO Checkout, pick a chain, and pay.
Every method starts the same way: paste your OpenRouter payment link or payment ID into ROZO Checkout.

Pay with SOL in 4 steps

  1. In OpenRouter, open Settings, then Credits. Turn on the crypto option, enter the amount ($10 or more) and click Purchase. Copy the payment link it produces.
  2. Paste the link at checkout.rozo.ai and choose SOL on Solana.
  3. The page shows a one-time Solana deposit address, a QR code and the exact SOL amount. Scan the QR code with Phantom, Solflare or another Solana wallet, or copy the address and amount, and send exactly that amount.
  4. The page watches for the transfer and shows live status. Once your SOL arrives, the OpenRouter invoice is settled and the credits are applied.

SOL or USDC on Solana: which to use

Both pay the same OpenRouter link. The difference is how you pay and what is priced in.

If you already hold stablecoins on Solana, that route is slightly cheaper. If what you hold is SOL, paying with SOL saves you a swap.

What to check before you send

If the amount or the credits look wrong

If less SOL arrives than the order amount, the page shows how much is missing. Send the missing amount to the same address and it is matched automatically.

If your wallet shows the transfer as confirmed and the page is still waiting, do not pay a second time. Copy the transaction signature and contact support with your OpenRouter payment link.

OpenRouter's 5% crypto fee is already inside the link amount, the $10 crypto minimum on the link still applies, and crypto payments to OpenRouter are never refundable under OpenRouter's policy.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay OpenRouter with SOL?
Not on OpenRouter's own checkout, which takes USDC on Base at the time of writing. Through ROZO Checkout the same OpenRouter payment link can be paid with native SOL on Solana.
Do I need to swap SOL to USDC first?
No. You send SOL and ROZO settles the invoice in USDC. The FX spread and the 1% service fee are built into the SOL amount shown before you send.
Which wallets work?
Any wallet that can send SOL to an address, including Phantom, Solflare and Backpack, or an exchange withdrawal on the Solana network.
Is paying with SOL more expensive than USDC?
Slightly. The SOL route includes an FX spread on the SOL price, while USDC and USDT on Solana are priced without one. Both carry the same 1% service fee, shown before you pay.
Can the CLI pay with SOL?
Today the ROZO Checkout CLI and MCP server pay with USDC, USDT or Bitcoin over Lightning, so for native SOL use the web checkout. The CLI does pay with USDC or USDT on Solana (--with usdc-solana or usdt-solana).
