How to Pay Koinly with Crypto

Shawn Muggle

Koinly tracks your crypto trades, staking, and DeFi activity across wallets and exchanges and turns it into a tax report. Almost everyone using it is, by definition, holding crypto — which makes paying for the plan itself with a card a small piece of friction in an otherwise crypto-native workflow.

Koinly's checkout offers a Coinbase-powered crypto payment option alongside cards. ROZO Checkout sits in front of that same payment link and lets you pay from whichever chain your funds actually sit on: Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Stellar USDC/USDT, or Bitcoin over Lightning. ROZO currently charges no service fee while we validate the flow.

This does not connect to your Koinly account, your exchange API keys, or your wallet sync settings. It only settles the payment link Koinly's own checkout already generated for your plan.

What is Koinly, and why pay it with crypto?

Koinly is crypto tax and portfolio software: connect your wallets and exchange accounts, and it reconciles transactions into cost basis, gains, and a tax report formatted for your jurisdiction. It is one of the more widely used tools in this category, in part because it supports a large number of chains and exchanges out of the box.

The plan itself is usually a one-time or annual fee tied to the tax year you need a report for. If your holdings are entirely in crypto — which, using Koinly, they typically are — paying that fee with a card means converting funds back to fiat first, purely to pay for software whose entire purpose is tracking those same crypto holdings.

Koinly's checkout already supports crypto payment through Coinbase. ROZO Checkout does not replace that option — it widens which chain and wallet the payment can come from, so someone holding Solana USDC or BNB Chain USDT is not routed through whichever chain the direct option defaults to.

Pay Koinly with crypto, step by step

  1. In Koinly, select your plan and proceed to checkout, then choose the crypto payment option. This generates a Coinbase Commerce-style payment link for the plan price.
  2. Copy that payment link.
  3. Go to checkout.rozo.ai/services/koinly and paste it in.
  4. Pick your chain — Solana, Base, BNB, Ethereum, Stellar USDC/USDT, or Bitcoin Lightning.
  5. Confirm the amount matches your order, then approve in your wallet.

On Solana, Base, BNB, and Ethereum this is wallet-connect: your wallet shows the token and amount before you sign, and nothing moves without approval. Stellar and Lightning are standard payment requests. There is no ROZO account and no stored balance — your funds move directly from your wallet to the payment link Koinly's checkout generated.

Which chains and wallets work

checkout.rozo.ai/services/koinly supports Solana (Phantom, Solflare, Backpack), Base (MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet), BNB Chain (MetaMask, Rabby, Trust Wallet), Ethereum mainnet, Stellar USDC/USDT (Lobstr, Freighter, or any Stellar wallet), and Bitcoin over Lightning (any Lightning wallet).

A Koinly plan is typically priced in the tens to low hundreds of dollars depending on transaction volume, so Ethereum mainnet gas is a smaller fraction of the total than it would be on a tiny purchase, but Solana, Base, Stellar, and Lightning still confirm faster and cheaper for most plan sizes.

The plan price is fixed by Koinly's own checkout before you reach ROZO Checkout. Switching chains or tokens changes which balance you pay from, not the amount you owe.

How long it takes

Stellar confirms in a few seconds, Solana and Base usually land within about 30 seconds, Bitcoin over Lightning usually credits in about 2 minutes, and BNB Chain or Ethereum land once the transaction confirms on-chain.

Because the payment settles through the same Coinbase-hosted link Koinly's own checkout generated, Koinly recognizes it the same way it would a payment through its own direct crypto option, and your plan should activate on Koinly's normal timeline once the payment confirms on their side.

If your Koinly plan does not activate after the on-chain payment confirms, that is a question for Koinly support, and having your transaction hash ready is the quickest way to resolve it.

Is it safe, and who is ROZO?

On Solana, Base, BNB Chain, and Ethereum this is a wallet-connect flow: your keys never leave your wallet, and you see the token and amount before signing. On Stellar and Lightning you pay a standard payment request with the amount shown up front. There is no address to hand-copy on the wallet-connect chains, which removes the most common expensive mistake in crypto payments.

ROZO Checkout does not hold a balance for you, and it never connects to your Koinly account, exchange API keys, or wallet sync settings — it only settles the payment link Koinly's own checkout already generated. ROZO is independent and is not affiliated with Koinly or Coinbase.

ROZO currently charges no service fee while we validate the flow.

Frequently asked questions

Does this connect to my Koinly account or exchange API keys?
No. ROZO Checkout only settles the payment link Koinly's own checkout generated for your plan. Your wallet syncs, exchange connections, and tax reports are entirely managed inside Koinly.
Which chains can I pay Koinly from?
Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Stellar (USDC/USDT), and Bitcoin over Lightning, at checkout.rozo.ai/services/koinly.
Does ROZO charge a fee?
ROZO currently charges no service fee while we validate the flow. The only cost is the underlying blockchain's network fee, paid to the network, not to ROZO.
Which wallets are supported?
Phantom, Solflare, or Backpack on Solana; MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet, or Trust Wallet on Base, BNB Chain, and Ethereum; Lobstr or Freighter on Stellar; and any Lightning wallet for Bitcoin.
How soon does my Koinly plan activate after paying?
Once the crypto payment confirms on-chain and Koinly's checkout registers it, the plan activates on Koinly's normal timeline, which is usually near-instant.
Do I need a ROZO account?
No. You paste the Koinly payment link, pick a chain, and confirm in your own wallet. There is no ROZO balance to fund and no account to create.
Is ROZO affiliated with Koinly?
No. ROZO is independent and is not affiliated with Koinly or Coinbase. It is a third-party checkout that accepts crypto you already hold and settles the payment link Koinly's checkout generated.
What if I hold a token in a wallet not listed here?
Pick the closest matching chain in ROZO Checkout, or check Pay with another method inside the checkout for additional options beyond the ones listed on this page.
